About the Center
Set amid extensive greenery on the outskirts of Bengaluru, Shreyas Retreat is an AYUSH-recognised wellness centre that combines Ayurveda, Panchakarma, Yoga, Naturopathy, meditation and mindful living. Designed as a meeting point between the simplicity of an ashram and the comforts of a luxury retreat, Shreyas offers personalized programmes for relaxation, rejuvenation, detoxification, preventive wellness and longer-term health management.
The retreat places considerable emphasis on individual attention. Ayurveda and Naturopathy doctors assess each guest and, where appropriate, tailor therapies, dietary recommendations, Yoga and lifestyle practices to their requirements. Its programmes range from short wellness stays to extended Panchakarma and medical programmes.
Shreyas' key distinction is its integrated approach to wellness. Ayurveda and Panchakarma are offered alongside Yoga, Pranayama, meditation, Naturopathy, nutrition and lifestyle guidance, rather than as isolated treatments. Guests can also choose from Ayurvedic rejuvenation, detox, silent retreats and longer Panchakarma programmes, alongside personalized nutrition, wellness therapies and nature-based experiences. The retreat also combines structured healing with opportunities for introspection and experiential learning. Longer stays may include cooking classes, farming, community activities, nature experiences and excursions, encouraging guests to take the principles of wellness beyond the treatment room.
Shreyas has a multidisciplinary team comprising Ayurveda and Naturopathy doctors, Yoga teachers, therapists and wellness professionals. Ayurveda doctors conduct consultations and oversee personalized therapies, while dietary guidance and lifestyle recommendations form part of the longer programmes. Panchakarma programmes, in particular, are structured around preparation, the principal therapies and post-treatment care.
The retreat's design is deliberately understated, with cottages, landscaped gardens, water features and open spaces integrated into the natural surroundings. Rather than creating a conventional resort environment, Shreyas draws on the atmosphere of a traditional Indian ashram while retaining the privacy and comforts expected of a luxury wellness retreat.
The extensive landscape provides spaces for Yoga, walking, meditation, nature-based activities and quiet reflection, making the natural environment an integral part of the wellness experience.
Sustainability is woven into the way Shreyas operates. The retreat maintains organic vegetable and herb gardens, with homegrown produce used in its kitchen. Its approach to landscaping focuses on working with the natural environment, while farming activities form part of some of the longer wellness programmes.
Guests can also participate in nature and farming experiences, allowing the retreat's sustainability philosophy to become part of the wellness journey rather than remaining behind the scenes. The retreat also offers one-day excursions to nearby heritage sites like Halebeedu, Belur, while those seeking a spiritual detour, nearby temples like the Sri Bylanjaneya Swamy Temple and Shree Ramalingeshwara Swamy Temple provide moments of reflection.
Food
Food is treated as an integral part of the wellness experience. Shreyas serves vegetarian cuisine, drawing on Indian nutritional traditions while incorporating Indian, Continental, Mexican and Oriental influences.
Much of the produce is sourced from the retreat's own organic gardens. Ingredients are cultivated and harvested with an emphasis on mindful and environmentally conscious practices, then prepared fresh in the kitchen. Depending on the programme, guests receive regular vegetarian meals, Dosha-specific diets or special dietary plans recommended by the doctors or dieticians. Cooking classes on healthy vegetarian cuisine are also included in selected longer programmes.
