Oleation 
The application of oil onto the body is known as oleation, marking the initial phase of Panchakarma treatment. Ayurveda offers a range of oils derived from natural and mineral sources, predominantly for external usage. Ghee serves various purposes, including internal application, facilitating the penetration into deeper tissues to carry therapeutic agents to every cell and release toxins embedded within. 

Fomentation 
Fomentation therapies induce perspiration, following the oleation process. This therapy complements oleation by enhancing the flexibility of tissues sensitized through prior oleation. As toxins, loosened during oleation, dissolve post-fomentation, the body expels them, facilitating purification.
