About the Center

Athreya Ayurvedic Centre is a family-run Ayurvedic medical centre built on more than six generations of traditional Ayurvedic practice. Established by Dr. Girish and Dr. Padmadevi, the centre continues a family lineage whose roots trace back to the traditional Kalari system of Ayurvedic education.

The next generation of physicians continues this heritage by combining traditional Ayurvedic knowledge with personalized patient care. Every guest’s journey begins with a detailed Ayurvedic consultation and Prakriti assessment, allowing the physicians to understand the individual’s constitution, health condition and treatment requirements.

Treatments are individually prescribed and may include classical Panchakarma, Kerala Ayurvedic therapies, herbal medicines, Ayurvedic nutrition, yoga, meditation and lifestyle guidance. The treatment plan is reviewed throughout the stay, allowing therapies and medicines to be adjusted according to the guest’s progress.

Athreya also prepares herbal medicines through its in-house GMP-certified pharmacy, keeping its treatment approach closely connected to traditional Ayurvedic practice.

The centre’s peaceful surroundings, yoga pavilion, herbal garden, Ayurvedic dining hall and relaxation spaces create an environment where guests can dedicate their stay to healing and restoration.

Food

Food is considered an integral part of the healing process at Athreya. Meals are freshly prepared according to Ayurvedic principles, using seasonal and wholesome ingredients selected to support digestion, detoxification and recovery.

Diet is personalized according to the guest’s treatment programme, body constitution and health condition. During Panchakarma and specialized treatments, meals are adapted under the guidance of the Ayurvedic physicians to complement the therapeutic process and support long-term well-being.

AC Cottage

Athreya offers comfortable Kerala-style cottages and private island accommodation designed to provide a peaceful setting during the treatment journey. The cottages feature air-conditioning, a private terrace, double bed and en-suite bathroom, along with essential modern amenities.

The accommodation is designed around privacy, comfort and a connection with the surrounding natural environment, providing a restful space between treatments.

Health Insurance

Athreya Ayurvedic Centre states that medical reimbursement through various health insurance policies is available for Ayurvedic medical care received at the centre. Guests are advised to check directly with their insurance provider before booking to confirm the specific coverage and reimbursement conditions applicable to their policy.

Cashless insurance is not available, so guests will need to make the payment upfront and subsequently submit the required documents to their insurance provider for reimbursement.
