About Athreya Ayurvedic Centre

For over six generations, the Athreya family has been preserving and practising the science of Ayurveda, creating a healing legacy that spans more than 180 years. Today, Athreya Ayurvedic Centre is a NABH-accredited residential Ayurvedic hospital in Kottayam, Kerala, where this rich heritage continues through physician-led Ayurvedic care rooted in classical texts and personalised treatment.

Athreya specialises in Panchakarma, chronic disease management, preventive healthcare, and advanced rejuvenation therapies. Guests from over 120 countries have travelled to the centre to experience authentic Ayurveda delivered through comprehensive medical evaluation, individualised treatment plans, and continuous physician supervision.

Every guest begins their healing journey with a detailed consultation to assess their Prakriti (body constitution), Dosha imbalance, medical history, lifestyle, and health concerns. Based on this assessment, experienced Ayurvedic physicians prescribe a personalised program that may include classical Panchakarma, Ayurvedic therapies, herbal medicines, therapeutic nutrition, yoga, meditation, and daily medical reviews. Treatments are continually adapted throughout the stay to support the guest's progress and long-term health goals.

Athreya offers specialised Ayurvedic care for musculoskeletal and spine disorders, neurological conditions, women's health, metabolic disorders, digestive disorders, skin conditions, stress-related illnesses, sleep disorders, and supportive cancer care. The centre is also one of the few institutions to offer Kutee Praveshika Rasayana, Ayurveda's most revered rejuvenation therapy, conducted under strict medical supervision for eligible guests.

Located amidst the serene backwaters and lush greenery of Kerala, Athreya provides a peaceful residential environment that complements the healing process. Comfortable accommodation, therapeutic vegetarian cuisine, dedicated treatment facilities, and experienced therapists create an immersive setting where guests can focus entirely on recovery and rejuvenation.

More than a wellness retreat, Athreya is a living tradition of Ayurveda, where six generations of clinical expertise, personalised physician-led care, and authentic healing practices continue to help people restore their health naturally.
