Introduction of Yoga 2. Meaning and definitions of Yoga according to different authentic scriptures. 3. Paths of Yoga 4. Sankhya Philosophy 5. Other details of Yoga Philosophy as following- a. Understanding creation as per shankya, the 3 gunas, 5 karmendriyas, 5 gyanendriyas, 5 bhutas, 5 tanmatras. b. The understanding of body as per Pancha koshas and Pancha Pranas. The 5 pranas and its physiological governance. c. The Chkras and its manifested parts i.e endocrine system and Nerve plexus. The personality and the chakras. d. The 3 nadis (Ida, Pingala and Sushumna) and its influence on the physiology, the way to balance Ida and Pingala through asanas and pranayama. e. Self-realization of the present status of Gunas, chakras, pranas and koshas thorough inspection/ reflexion exercises. Part -2 Asanas and Pranayama a. Introduction of right aliment of standing series, forward bends, twists and seated postures, Inversions and arm balances. b. Benefits of Asanas ,& pranayama for body, mind and soul. c. Emotional purification through asansa and pranayama. Part- 3 Human Anatomy and Physiology Part -4 Ethics of a Yoga Practitioner and Teacher: 1- Yoga teacher ethics based on the following: Dharma concept (Karma Yoga ), Yama and Niyama of Astanga Yoga. 2- Examples from Indian history and mythology to reflect on teachers ethics. 3- Kriya Yoga concept of Yoga sutras for a teacher. 4- Professional ethics of a teacher, physical touch, limitations and disclaimers. 5- Teachers conduct out of the yoga class and on social media. 6. It is essential that students of TTC at Siddha Yoga Peeth(SYP), Rishikesh, adhere to the code of conduct during their training at the premise during and after classes. Rishikesh is a holy town in the heart of India, and we expect the traditional Indian values of our culture are respected and request our students to give reverence to our culture and refrain from hurting the sentiments of the locals and our cultural values. 100% attendance in classes is mandatory. Participants are encouraged to wear loose clothes. Both men and women are requested to avoid wearing revealing attire while at the premise. Avoid wearing transparent clothes and clothes revealing cleavage/back/ belly button. Preferable clothes: Cotton salwar kurta, loose cotton/lycra pants, T-shirts, jumpers, yoga leggings. The use of alcohol or any intoxicating substance throughout the tenure of TTC will lead to dismissal of your participation with TTC at Siddha Yoga Peeth (SYP), Rishikesh. Smoking is strictly prohibited in and around the premises. Participants are allowed to carry cell phones as long as they keep them on silent mode during TTC (though we request switching them off during classes. We encourage Seva (service). If you may feel inclined towards Seva, you can inform your teacher and we will include you to the tasks you can assist with.
