overview-icon about center

Vaidyagrama Ayurveda is an Ayurvedic healing village on the outskirts of Coimbatore, created around the philosophy of “Nurturing the Wellness, Healing the Illness.” Meaning “healing village,” Vaidyagrama brings together traditional Ayurvedic medical care, nature, simple living and community in an immersive environment designed for deep healing and recovery.

The centre follows a structured, hospital-like healing model where guests receive personalized Ayurvedic treatment under the supervision of experienced Vaidyas, along with an Ayurvedic daily routine, therapeutic diet, yoga, meditation, chanting, prayer and other traditional practices that support physical, mental and emotional well-being.

Vaidyagrama is particularly suited to guests seeking authentic Ayurveda, Panchakarma and longer therapeutic stays, especially those looking to address long-term or recurring health concerns rather than seeking a conventional spa or luxury wellness holiday.

About the Center

Vaidyagrama combines classical Ayurveda, Panchakarma, nature, Vastu Shastra and community living within a green healing environment inspired by traditional Kerala Nalukettu architecture.

The centre was founded by Dr. Ramkumar Kutty, who comes from a family with generations of experience in traditional Ayurveda. He has served as a Trustee of the Ayurvedic Trust in Coimbatore and as a Director of The Arya Vaidya Pharmacy (Coimbatore) Ltd. Over the years, he has shared his knowledge of Ayurveda through lectures and workshops across America, Europe, Africa, Australia and Asia.

Together with Dr. Kutty, Vaidyagrama's senior medical team brings more than 180 years of combined experience, with several practitioners belonging to established Ayurvedic lineages.

Treatment begins with an individual assessment by experienced Vaidyas. Therapies, medicines, diet and daily routines are then personalized according to the guest's needs, with particular emphasis on classical Ayurveda, Panchakarma and specialized care for chronic and recurring health concerns.

The healing village integrates natural light, ventilation and abundant greenery into its spaces. Sustainability is also an important part of the centre's approach, including organic farming, water recycling, composting, energy conservation, biomass fuel and natural cleaning practices.

Beyond treatment, guests follow a structured Ayurvedic routine that can include prescribed therapies, therapeutic meals, rest, yoga, meditation, chanting, prayers, satsangs, Ayurvedic cooking, organic gardening, Go-puja and Karmayoga. Facilities include consultation and treatment rooms, therapy areas, Ayurveda pharmacies, yoga and meditation spaces, dining areas, organic gardens and peaceful spaces for rest and reflection.

Food

Food is considered an integral part of the healing process at Vaidyagrama, following the Ayurvedic principle that food can be medicine.

Guests are served freshly prepared, simple sattvic vegetarian meals, with food choices aligned to their individual treatment and health requirements. The kitchen uses fresh grains, vegetables, legumes, fruits, nuts and seeds, with a growing proportion of produce sourced from the centre's own organic gardens.

Meals are prepared fresh and served three times a day, reinforcing Vaidyagrama's emphasis on nourishment, simplicity and mindful eating.

Accommodation

Standard Rooms (Non A/C)

Vaidyagrama's accommodation is designed as traditional-style illams, each built around an open-air column or atrium that allows natural light, fresh air and the sounds of nature to flow through the space.

Each illam contains four guest rooms along with treatment spaces, creating a quiet and intimate healing environment.
