Sitaram Ayurveda Beach Retreat is the wellness hospitality arm of Sitaram Ayurveda Pharmacy, one of Kerala's most respected Ayurveda institutions. Founded by Vaidyaratnam P.S. Varier's contemporary, Vaidyan K. Parameswaran Mooss, the organisation traces its roots back over 100 years and continues to be managed by generations of Ayurvedic practitioners dedicated to preserving Kerala's classical healing traditions.

Located on a quiet stretch of beach in Thrissur district and surrounded by coconut groves, the retreat has been designed to create a seamless connection between nature and healing. The architecture reflects Kerala's traditional building principles, with tiled roofs, open spaces, natural materials and plenty of ventilation that allow the sea breeze and natural light to flow throughout the property.

Sitaram retains an intimate and personalized atmosphere, ensuring guests receive individual attention from doctors, therapists and wellness experts. The retreat's philosophy is centred on treating the individual rather than the illness. Every wellness journey begins with a detailed consultation, during which Ayurvedic physicians assess the guest's constitution, health history and lifestyle before designing a customized treatment programme. Food

Sitaram Retreat's food philosophy is rooted in the Ayurvedic idea that right food can replace the need for medicine. Guided by Ayurvedic principles, Sitaram’s in-house restaurant, Satvik runs a slow-food vegetarian kitchen using fresh, local ingredients, with no artificial additives, refined sugar/flour, preservatives, alcohol, meat, or any kind of processed foods. This was designed to complement each guest's treatment programme and support digestion, metabolism and overall well-being.

Meals are guided by Ayurveda's six-taste system (sweet, sour, salty, pungent, bitter, astringent) and personalized to each guest's treatment plan; be it a digestive-support diet, a five-meal plan for weight management, or specific pre/post-Panchakarma diets, with allowances for gluten-free, lactose-free, and diabetic needs. Guests are also made to understand how food can become a powerful tool for maintaining long-term health.

Keeping that in mind, buffets are also not offered at Sitaram because healing requires more than willpower. Buffets encourage the very patterns of excess and mindless choice the resort aims to help guests unlearn.

As a NABH-registered Ayurveda hospital, medical reimbursement through various Health Insurance is available for any Ayurvedic medical treatments taken at Sitaram Beach Resort. Please check directly with your insurer before booking to confirm coverage specifics. Cashless insurance is not available at the resort, so guest’s will need to pay upfront and file for reimbursement afterward.
