AryaMarga Society

Bir, Himachal Pradesh | Himalayas

AryaMarga Yoga has taken accountability for what we believe to be a restructuring of the existing Teacher Training Courses and through our highly intense curriculum deliver an unadulterated Yogic experience. Our aim is to recreate the style and content of teaching as was received personally by us from our Gurus of the ancient Lineage of Anuttara Yoga, a combination of the Hatha-Laya and Kundalini Yogas. Our courses are not particularly designed to be a career change, they are not vocational.

The 5 month ANUBHAVA YOGA TTC, or Experiential Yoga practice leads to a profound experience of authentic Yoga, it’s methods and views. The actual experience within of the learned theory and techniques, using the experiential tools of ANUBHAVA YOGA TTC helps to develop an intuitive understanding of the therapeutic values of the asanas and psychological techniques learnt for the mind and body.

This in turn allows the student to move from being one who experiences the power of Yoga, to one who heals, and helps develop the bodies and minds of others with Yoga- a true teacher.

The 5 month experiential course opens with a 5 day orientation session, which introduces the teachings and the lineage to the students. A student will be accepted for the course only if the aptitude of the provisional student meets with the criterion of the course during the 5 day period. The entire course fee will be refunded (excluding the Registration Fee) in case the student decided to discontinue the course during the first 5 days. No refunds will be entertained post the orientation period.

Roadway Connectivity
From Delhi: Bir is about 12-14 hours from Delhi by bus. From the Inter-state Bus Terminal (ISBT), take a bus to either Baijnath. There are two overnight buses from Delhi to Baijnath, both of which depart mid-evening and arrive early morning. From Dharamshala: Bir is about four or five hours from Dharamshala by bus, depending on the timing of buses and number of connections. There are three ways to travel from Dharamshala to Bir by bus, listed here starting with the most convenient: There are two daily direct buses to Bir Road/Upper Bir leaving at 6:00am & 2:00pm from the bus station in (lower) Dharamshala. (About four hours) Alternatively, you can take a direct bus from Dharamshala to Baijnath, and from there continue onward to Bir either by local bus or by taxi (see ‘From Baijnath’ section immediately below). If the timing of direct buses to Bir or Baijnath doesn’t work of you, the last-resort options are these: either take a bus to Palampur and change there for any other bus onward to Baijnath or further east, or just hop on any bus heading east from Dharamshala, including those to Jogindernagar, Mandi, Manali, or Shimla, and ask the driver or conductor to drop you off at Bir Road (note: if you get to Chauntra or Jogindernagar, you’ve gone too far). This can take anywhere from three to five hours. By Train — Train to Pathankot + bus/taxi onward to Bir: The most common way to travel to Bir by train is to take a train from Delhi (or wherever your origin may be) to Pathankot/Chakki Bank (two neighbouring train stations in the Punjab, either of which is fine) and then make the rest of the journey to Bir by bus (6-8 hours) or taxi (4-5 hours). By Plane The closest airport to Bir is the Dharamshala airport, about 30-45 minutes south of Dharamshala. Daily flights service is available between Delhi – Dharamshala.

Alcohol, tobacco, smoking and other illicit drugs are not allowed during the course or on the premises. During the course a vegetarian diet is to be followed to experience an holistic and Ayurvedic lifestyle. We ask that you do not bring in outside food.
