The center offers Panchakarma procedures only in those patients who are fit for that particular Panchakarma procedure as per the guidelines dictated by classical Ayurvedic text books (Ashtangasangraha, Charaka Samhitha and Susrutha Samhitha) The detoxification or Panchakarma program is a five-step cleansing treatment that is essentially about purification of the body. The treatment is preceded by Poorvakarma or pre-purification where the body is freed from toxins through Swedanam (sweating) and Snehanam (Oleation). After this, Panchakarma is given according to the individual’s constitution and disorder. The five steps include Nasyam, Vamanam, Virechanam, Vasthy and Rakthamoksham. This is followed by Paschatkarma or post-purification measures, which advises a diet and lifestyle that is harmonious with one’s constitution. Bedridden, wheelchair bound and critically ill patients cannot be treated here.
