Who Should Apply for 100 Hour Yoga TTC?
This is a 14 days intense and transformational yoga training course; your first step towards a life long commitment to the yogic life.
If you are an existing yoga teacher and are looking to go back to basics and diversify your practice and learn the fundamental of yoga as taught by Indian yoga masters then this could be a perfect refreshers course for you. This 100 hrs course will also count towards your personal career development. This course could also be perfect for someone who is a beginner to yoga, and who wants to have a more intensive introduction to yoga. You could just be a holiday maker or a backpacker, looking for a yoga holiday in Goa. Then this course will be perfect for you to spend some time in Goa, relax, practice yoga, detox and go through this amazing experience in India of spiritual vibes, peace and happiness. You could be a dedicated yogi who is not yet ready to make a 21 day 200 hrs commitment but would like to break the training in two semesters, then this course can be perfect for you, we can customise the time so you can eventually be a 200 hrs teacher to attain insurance and teach anywhere.

Learn Yoga in the land of its an origin
A typical day during your course:
During your training you will have an opportunity to live by the rhythm of nature. The Yoga Training schedule begins at 6:15 am with a short morning prayer followed by a pranayama session. Then there comes the morning session for the traditional Yoga Postures (Hatha-Yoga) before the breakfast. Then we have two main sessions; one philosophy and the other yoga anatomy followed by lunch at noon. Then there will be some self-study and Self-practice time, before we begin the afternoon and evening sessions of Vinyasa-Yoga Asanas followed by Relaxation & Meditation. There will be some inspirational cultural activities, such as satsang (devotional songs), lectures on yoga related subjects, audios and video lectures. The weekly assignments will be part of the training as that is conducive to gain in-depth knowledge of the subjects and experience through your yoga practices. During this yoga teacher training you will be provided with three yoga vegetarian meals including fruit refreshments and green tea.
We encourage the students to go sleep early about 10pm as that is conducive to the yoga training.
This is a holistic course that gives you a diverse introduction to a full yoga ttc course. You will be introduced to mantra chanting, cleansing techniques, breathing or pranayama techniques. Asana in different styles to give you diversity in your practice. You will learn about bandhas, mudras and sholkas. Yoga anatomy and philosophy. Teaching methodologies and adjustment techniques. If you are a budding/qualified yoga teacher or you could be a new yogi all full of energy and hope to enter the world of learning yoga, then our team of teachers will give you a gentle introduction to yoga and start you of on your yogic journey. Whatever is your level and goals our teachers are here committed to your development. We will give you practical tools to take in the world, share it with others.
Overview of Course Curriculum – What to expect
From ancient times sages, swamis, seekers, priests saints, and sadhus have been coming to India to experience the divine promise, the nectar of spirituality and a flavour of authentic yoga asana from Indian gurus.
Many from here went to the west and took with, the LIGHT of yoga to the world. But in today’s India, how do you choose a yoga school that can live up to this divine promise? Since the time of ancient sages till now, India has transformed into a new India and so has the way yoga is taught today!
Given the diversity of the experience of The Yoga Cave initiative teachers, no day will be the same. The morning classes will be two hours long and usually will be sequence driven. The evening asana class and teaching methodology class will be your opportunity to go deep into every asana and learn the variations and methods to teach.
Mantra/Chanting/Kirtan
You will start your day with either mantra recitation or some form of meditation or pranayama. You will be introduced to the science of mantra chanting, we will teach you basic popular mantras, morning and evening mantras, meal prayers, shlokas, bija mantras and surya namaskar mantras. You will feel the essence of bhakti yoga in the morning with your chanting and mantra sessions.
YogaAsana – Hatha & Ashtanga
Yoga Asana is an important part of yogic life and thus you will do a lot of asana practice during your course. You will learn:
Following is a list of asanas from a 200 hrs course, we will focus on many but not all of the asanas below in this 100 hrs course.
Pranayama & Bandhas
We will introduce you to the yogic science of breathing(pranayama), we will explore the physiology of pranayama, establishment of diaphragmatic breath, 1:1, 1:2 and 1:4 breathing practices. You will learn pranayama techniques like nadi shodhana, ujjai breath, bhastrika, shitali, shitkari and brahmari. To create fire in your belly pranayama is of upmost importance, we will train you and give you the right tools to build a regular pranayama practice.
Bandhas, the art of locking the energy created during your asana. In this course, you will learn about Mula- Bandha, uddiyana bandha, Jalandhara bandha, their benefits, and techniques.
Shatkarma and Kriya – cleansing exercises.
You will learn basic cleansing techniques like Jala neti and sutra neti.
Mindfullness, relaxation, meditation techniques and concepts.
During this course, you will learn about meditation, mindfulness and relaxation techniques from dedicated meditation guides and masters. We will help you build a daily meditation practice, yoga asana for meditation, So-ham meditation, introduction to the concepts and practices of relaxation and meditation and 31 relaxation techniques.
Yoga Philosophy, Vedas and tantra
Apart from asana(postures of the physical practice of yoga) you will also learn the history and philosophy of yoga including but not restricted to:
-Patanjali yoga sutra – Samadhi and Sadhan pada – through storytelling and critical analysis we will explore this ancient text. Every class will be interactive and full of factual information. Patanjali Yoga Sutra is one of the most prescribed text to understand yoga. Yoga is Chitta Vrithi nirodha. We will explore the concepts of Purusha and Prakriti, the seer, the Sakshi, Advaita and the programming of the mind and how to connect to our ancient self. We will also do a brief comparative study of western ideology and culture compared Vedic philosophy and contemporary Indian culture.
– 8 limbs of ashtanga – Yama, Niyama, pranayama, asana, pratyahara, Dhyana, Dharana, samadhi: with an interactive discussion we will explore “Ashtanga” and how it is different from your 90 min primary series they are teaching down the gym!
– History of Hinduism/India – a factual history of what the term Hinduism actually means and what constitutes the hindu philosophy.
