10-day retreat will make one experience the integration of one’s entire personality. This retreat will introduce Surya Namaskar which is the most ancient form activating and worshiping thy self. This retreat will also guide one to fall into yoga Nidra just after doing Surya Kriya and how one. Every posture in Surya Namaskar has its anatomical and philosophical benefits for one’s mind and body. This retreat will discuss how to transform oneself in systematic eight steps given by the prestigious, Guru Swami Rama, in the book ‘Path of Fire and Light’. There will be an introduction to Raja yoga philosophy which is the eight steps ladder of the systematic process of achieving the highest form of wisdom ‘samadhi’.

Breathing & Pranayama: Controlling the breath and thus calming the nerves, is prerequisite to controlling the mind and the body’ by Swami Rama. This retreat will discuss three different types of breathing which are chest or thoracic, abdominal or belly breathing, and diaphragmatic breathing. Which type of breathing is harmful and beneficial for the body will be thoroughly discussed. How breathing affects moods and emotions. How one can just eliminate stress and negativity just by being aware of the flow of breath. There will be the practice of pranayama which means the control of the flow of energy by giving direction to one’s breath. There will be guided practicum of pranayama and kriyas such as Kapalabhati, Bhastrika, Brahmari, and Nadi Shodanam. Their benefits and importance will also be discussed.
Relaxation and meditation: Meditation is a self-effort, a probe into inner life, and will reveal all the secrets to you in time to come’ by Swami Rama. Meditation is a word and a process which has been highly misused and yet there is a good deal of confusion what meditation is and how it is practiced. Meditation is not contemplation or thinking, it is not hypnosis or autosuggestion, it is not a religion. Meditation is simply a mediation in the inner world by being aware of the flow of the breath.
It is a specific technique for completely resting the mind. There will be guided meditation and how to prepare oneself for meditation every day at the same time and same place to create a new groove in your mind. Relaxation of mind and body has become very important in your hectic life schedule. This retreat will make one get rid of stress and negativity by different kind of relaxation techniques such as systematic progressive relaxation, point to point relaxation, and tension relaxation. They will be discussed on anatomy and physiology of relaxation.
Joints and glands: All the disciplines of yoga are intended for one purpose – to awaken in you a renewed sense of balance and harmony that will gradually reintroduce you to yourself’. Joints and glands are not just the movements to warm up the body. It is a very important practice to keep your joints and glands activated and healthy throughout one’s life. It re-coordinates the system and makes one feel more alive. Awareness is brought to the areas that have been frozen or forgotten.
This retreat will introduce a different kind of doing of joints and glands which is done in synchronized synergy meaning with the flow of the breath and in the nonstop free flow. It brings one’s attention to detail to the movement and its effect on breath and body.

Surya Namaskar (Hatha yoga): When one begins to understand from where that gentle part of the forcing comes, the meaning of Hatha (‘ha’ is sun and ‘tha’ is moon) shifts and then one is thinking not the physical body alone but of subtler truths, cosmic truths, the universal energy fields, the sun and the moon.’ by Swami Ved Bharati. There are three approaches to Hatha yoga which are tapas (ascetic practice), worship, and the evolution of mind. Surya Namaskar is a very ancient form of worshipping and activation the inner sun and moon.
This is a myth that Surya Namaskar can only be done with the sun rising. Surya Namaskar has got nothing to the outer sun, the sun is a representation of a type of energy within your yogic body. In this retreat, one will be guided in the worshipping, flowing, and spiritual part of Surya Namaskar, not just a mere exercise. Every posture activates different psychological and anatomical effects which will be thoroughly discussed.
Every posture activates different centers of consciousness and what effects does it have in your mind and body will be discussed. By the end of the retreat, one would have already learned to do one Surya Namaskar in one hour.

61 points and introduction to yoga Nidra: The word yoga means ‘union’. When your individual soul unites with the cosmic soul, when you are one with the absolute, that is yoga.’ by Swami Rama. Just like the word ‘meditation’, the word ‘yoga Nidra’ is also very misused and there is much confusion about it. Yoga Nidra is not something that can be done, it occurs. One can just only initiate the process of going into yogic sleep. Yoga Nidra is half-sleep and half-walking state: it is not waking state and it is not really a sleep state.
It is a state where one can gain complete rest and a little bit of sleep, but remain fully awake. In this retreat, one will be taught to achieve breathlessness after only which yoga Nidra can be initiated in the corpse posture. One will be taught how to make tissue memory of 61 points of Shava Yatra which is the journey of the consciousness to the pilgrimage sites inside the yogic body.

Path of fire and light: eight steps to self-transformation: You have the capacity and strength to expand your conscious mind with the help of a method that is called ‘interior research’ the internal journey. This instruction is leading you on the path called ‘the path of the keyless door’.’ by Swami Rama. This will include the reading and discussion of the book ‘Path of Fire and Light’ by the prestigious, Guru Swami Rama. In this book, your main emphasis will be on eight steps of self-transformation. Usually, the door is locked and there is no key, but you are learning to open it.
You have to open it and you have the power to do so. Your mind is yours; know your mind. To open the door and start your inner journey, you need to learn several points and apply them systematically.
Philosophy of Raja yoga: Yoga is a systematic science; its teachings are an integral part of most religions, but yoga itself is not a religion. Most religions teach what to do, but yoga teaches how to be.’ by Swami Rama. Raja yoga, the royal path. This highly scientific path was systematized by the codifier of yoga, Patanjali. By following it, one learns to control his desires, emotions, and thoughts as well as the subtle impressions that lie dormant in the unconscious.
It unites the individual to the cosmic reality by means of the eight rungs in the ladder of yoga, which are systematically explained and described. The aspirant finally gains the eight-rung called ‘samadhi’.

Cleansing practices: Neti cleanses the cranium and bestows clairvoyance. It also destroys all diseases that manifest above the throat’ by Hatha yoga Pradipika. This retreat will also teach one how to do nasal wash so that nose is free of extra mucus and bacteria which allows the breath to flow freely in both the nostrils. There will be some additional cleansing exercises taught such as bowel movement and digestive breathing which is very important for a yogic life.

Acharya Sudhir Agasti, is a very experienced and an influential guide of yoga and meditation,... follower of Swami Rama of the Himalayas and the direct disciple of Swami Veda Bharati. Born in a spiritual family he grew up and was trained by his parents in disciplines of yoga and spiritual life. Acharyaji has been practicing yoga including Hath Yoga, Pranayama and Meditation for more than 2 decades under the guidance of numerous yogis of the Himalyas and other yoga teachers, yet he feels proud to have learnt from Swami Veda Bharati. Staying at Swami Rama Sadhaka Grama, Rishikesh, he studied yoga and meditation, Indian philosophy including Sankhya, Yoga, Vedanta and Tantra philosophies. He is designated as an E-RYT 200, and RYT 500 from Yoga Alliance (USA), and a certified Master Yoga Teacher of 500-Hour from Yoga Alliance India (YAI). Acharyaji also holds his academic education of MA in Yoga from Jain Vishva Bharati University, Rajasthan. Practicing under his guidance, one can experience the depth of serenity and flexibility of body, breath and mind in his classes. On the way to his spiritual journey, he established a Yoga and Meditation Center in Orissa in 2008. There time to time he organizes camps and retreats of Yoga and Meditation to selflessly guide and help the rural children and poor people.

 

Swami Omkarananda

Swami Omkarananda, grew up around the great lady saint of India, Ma Anandamayi He studied and lived with six enlightened Masters Swami Dayananda Saraswati, Swami Veda Bharati, Swami Chidananda Saraswati, Dalai Lama, Lung Chu, and the Master of Masters Kalyan Babaji of Himalayas.
Swamiji has multifaceted experience in the field of metaphysics, parapsychology, and mind-matter interaction like psychokinesis and psychic healing, as well as profound knowledge in Vedanta, Sanskrit, holistic lifestyle and yoga. By Dalai Lama’s reference, he visited a Tibetan monastery, where he decided to leave his secular job permanently in order to stay and study with the great Tibetan Master – Lung Chu. Academically, Swami Omkarananda holds a degree in Electronic Engineering, along with five Masters Degrees and a PHD in Metaphysics. His professional experience ranges from the field of nuclear science in India to heading a yoga school in China, teaching at the department of consciousness of a Vedic health center in Switzerland, and doing research at the Theosophy Society in Japan.

Swami Atma Jnanananda Giri is a sadhaka from Swami Rama Sadhaka Grama, Rishikesh, who by profession is a homeopathic doctor, learnt meditation techniques from his guide and teacher, Swami Veda Bharatiji. Now he delivers his lectures and classes on meditation, mantra chanting, yoga Nidra, and philosophical texts, such as Bhagavad-gita and Patanjali Yoga-sutras. According Swami Atma “finding happiness and peace within oneself is the greatest achievement in life.”

 

Dr. Shobha Shree 
Meditation & Philosophy Teacher

Dr. Shobha Shree was born in a spiritual family of Haridwar, a famous pilgrimage of India. She was brought up in the spiritual environment of mantra chanting and study of philosophy in her family from her childhood. Therefore she had a keen desire of getting higher education in yoga philosophy and of doing her spiritual practice . Dr. Shobha has done Ph.D in yoga philosophy from Gurukul Kangari University, Haridwar, post graduation in philosophy and psychology and one year diploma in yoga. She was initiated from Himalayan tradition where she received deeper knowledge of yoga and philosophy from Swamy Veda Bharti ji, Himalayan Tradition . At present she is sharing knowledge of philosophy, yogapsychology, Pranayama. Meditation and yoganidra in yoga TTC in Rishikesh since 8 years. She believes in nonviolence, love and trust on Supreme Reality and by following we can achieve peace and the heights of spirituality. She loves to live in Nature.

 

Acharya Jagjeet Singh

Yoga Acharya Jagjeet is a saintly personality by birth. He was blessed to have taken birth in a spiritual family. ...He has been practicing and teaching yoga for more than 11 years. He feels fortunate to have Acharya Karamveerji (Swami Ramadeva’s guru brother) as his yoga guru. Even after acquiring skills in yogic therapies and doing meditation in the Himalayas, he had an urge to go deeper, in order to gain more awareness of yoga therapies; as a result he opted to learn and work enthusiastically on Shatkarma.

 

Dr. Harsh Agrawal (B.A.M.S.)

Dr. Harsh comes from a family of Doctors, whose Grand Father was a very famous Ayurvedacharya during 1970. ...He carries a rich experience of over 10 years in the field of chronic disorders and their treatment through Ayurveda stream. He has been a pioneer in Rishikesh Medical fraternity and more than 20,000 patients from India and abroad have already benefited with the help of his varied expertise and rich experience. Dr. Harsh has been an a very active participant of multiple medico-social initiatives e.g. Social Welfare Camps, International Ayurvedic Exhibitions, Health Fairs, Seminars, Symposiums and other activities of Shanti Kunj, Clinical Research for Ayurveda wing. Acharya Ravinder Singh Padiyar is a highly qualified and experienced instructor of Astanga...Vinyasa He is regarded as one of the very inspiring Vinyasa teacher in Rishikesh He holds his academic education from different prestigious yoga institutes and Universities in India including his Astanga Vinyasa education from Mysore (Karnataka), and MA in yoga from Jaina Vishva Bharati, Rajasthan. He is also specialized in teaching physical, breathing and mental training techniques to students of different sex and age from diverse cultural backgrounds. He utilizes strong skills in communication to establish individual needs and to prepare and deliver appropriate training and therapy plans accordingly. He also took 1st place in the state Yoga Championship in Nov 2009, hosted by the Indian Yoga Federation.

Buses to Rishikesh leave New Delhi from the Kashmiri Gate national bus stand approximately every hour. The bus ride takes about eight hours and costs around 900 INR for air conditioned buses and 500 INR for buses without air conditioning. The best option is to reach Haridwar train station, about 45 minutes away from Rishikesh, by road on a driven taxi or the so called tuktuks. From Delhi, the train ride takes approximately eight hours, depending on the train. Haridwar is serviced by many trains from and to Delhi, Varanasi, Rajasthan, Amritsar, and many others.

Yoga is the control of the mind’s modifications and not suppressing the natural tendencies of unconscious and conscious mind. Here the first sutra of the Yoga-sutras teaches us to cultivate a disciplined mind. All our terms and conditions are set to assist to acquire the strength of the mind in order to enhance the quality of mind to be in discipline.

1. Alcohol, tobacco, smoking and other drugs are not allowed during the course.

2. No friends and relatives are allowed to stay with yoga students without any prior permission from the managements.

3. Unnecessary food like non-veg are not allowed during the course, the food in the yoga school is purely vegetarian, to experience an holistic and ayurvedic life style please don’t bring any outside food to eat.

4. Weekly karma yoga is practiced for 2 hrs.

5. YTTP students to understand the results of training programme cannot be guaranteed and your progress depends on your effort during in and outside the class and your individual results can be vary from person to person, that depends on the yoga trainer or instructors.

6. During the classes, mobile phones, cameras, and recording equipment are strictly forbidden.

All YTTP students are requested to punctual on the YTTP timetable and to attend all yoga course programs. Our course payments are pre contracted. In any circumstances the fees are non-refundable or non-transferrable unless the course is cancelled and there is no negotiable in fees.
However, in case of emergencies and any other unavoidable situation the center permits the students to go for any other scheduled course within the of one year. It is advised to carefully consider the time and resources for the course before forwarding the application. Therefore we recommend the students examine their upcoming responsibilities and obligations so that they may be able to devote their full attention to the yoga teacher training program.
